PETA India has developed a bold strategic roadmap – the Research Modernisation Deal – to modernise science by replacing the use of animals in regulatory testing and bio-medical research. This plan has been shared with regulatory bodies, government funding agencies, and academic institutions. Through meetings, many regulators have been informed about the failures and limitations of animal models and the benefits of non-animal methods (e.g. they’re more human-relevant, faster, and cheaper), and many agencies are willing to work to replace or reduce the use of animals.
